This IESO issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an MDMR Web Presentment

(SME_MAN_0005). This document provides the IESO interpretation of the
Time-of-Use (TOU) Periods specified by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB)
Regulated Price Plan and the configuration of MDM/R TOU schedules and related
Energy Purchase Service (EPS) calendars required to support the RPP TOU

The IESO has published a project planning template to assist Local
Distribution Companies (LDCs) in planning their smart metering project
activities. This template includes a generic listing of activities spanning
all stages from initial preparatory actions to integration with the Meter
Data Management Repository (MDMR). This document is available in both PDF and
Microsoft Project format and is accompanied by a separate document that

The IESO has published MDM/R V1.0 Technical Interface Specifications, Issue

publication contains additional updates concerning synchronization interface
business rules, SDP Attributes and Services, and completion of optional
attributes. These additional updates were absent from the intermediate
publication of Issue 2.5 on June 2, 2008. The publication of this Issue 2.6
represents the completion of the design review of the new periodic and

The IESO has published an MDM/R Document Change Notice (SME_IMDC_0014)
announcing the application of recently-changed Validation, Estimation and
Editing (VEE) service parameters to the MDM/R production system. These

(VEE) Standard, previously published on March 20th and shall apply to all
meter transfer blocks received by the MDM/R production system after April 8,

The IESO has published an update to the Draft Validation, Estimation and
Editing (VEE) Standard (Issue 0.9). This update includes technical changes
and corrections to bring the document in line with the current release of the

A revised version of proposed a Market Rule amendment, MR-00336 - Settlements
- Treatment of the Smart Metering Charge is available for review on the main
IESO public website. This amendment would enable the IESO and organizations
using the MDM/R to make use of existing settlements, invoicing and payments
processes to administer any applicable charges for using MDM/R services. The

The IESO has proposed a Market Rule amendment, MR-00336 - Settlements -
Treatment of the Smart Metering Administration Charge. This amendment would
enable the IESO and organizations using the MDM/R to make use of existing

The SMSIP has revised the MDM/R Design page on this website to support the
Temporary Change Control Process. Further information on the Temporary Change

A recent regulation made under the Electricity Act designated the IESO as the
Smart Metering Entity. As such, in addition to its current responsibilities
for program coordination and Meter Data Management/Repository (MDM/R)
implementation, the IESO will be responsible for MDM/R administration and
operation. The IESO looks forward to working with local distribution
companies to move this project into the operational phase over the coming

These latest versions constitute the first MDM/R design documents to be

System Implementation Program (SMSIP), the IESO has issued an RFI pertaining
to the implementation of the Meter Data Management and Repository
(MDM/R). While the functional design
of the MDM/R is not complete, at this time the IESO wishes to solicit
information from organizations with experience in providing and/or operating
