“Time-of-Use Rates at Work,” the IESO’s online tool targeted toward small businesses, is available for local distribution companies (LDCs) to customize, brand and integrate on their websites. Contact the IESO’s Corporate Communications team to obtain an LDC-specific version of the site.

The number of smart meters enrolled in the Meter Data Management and Repository (MDM/R) surpassed the two million mark in December, reflecting a significant increase in LDC enrolment activity in 2010. In light of LDC efforts, this website will provide weekly updates about MDM/R enrolment and testing activity.

The SME has updated the MDM/R testing and cutover guide to include more details about the sample test data LDCs should submit with their Self-Certification for Enrolment Testing form. 

An external audit of the IESO’s Meter Data Management and Repository (MDM/R) operations processes and procedures was recently completed with the organization receiving an unqualified opinion for the audit period April 1, 2010 to Sept. 30, 2010. 

The IESO recently launched a new online tool designed to help small business owners understand Time-of-Use (TOU) rates. “Time-of-Use Rates at Work” allows business owners to input basic information about their business’ electricity use to build a load profile. The objective of the tool is to get them thinking about their energy use and understand how their consumption profile will impact their costs.

The SME will hold a one day workshop on Oct. 5 at the Toronto Congress Centre to review the recently introduced MDM/R Billing Service Standard Interface Request and Response, which is being developed to support Measurement Canada’s requirement to include cumulative register reads from smart meters on residential customer bills. Due to the overwhelming demand, a live teleconferencing option will also be available.
