Transitions to Register Readings and Equality

Location - Hilton Garden Inn - 2774 South Sheridan Way in Oakville

The half-day workshop titled “Transitions to Register Readings and Equality” has been designed to assist everyone using the MDM/R to understand the initial transition to providing register readings on the consumer’s billing invoice that will be enabled with the deployment of EnergyIP R7.2 and the subsequent transition to register reading equality that will be enabled by the subsequent deployment of several outstanding functions of the Measurement Canada MDM/R Universal Solution. This workshop is intended to inform MDM/R users of these transitions to better understand corresponding business impacts, which may include modifications to LDC internal systems and choices for how each LDC will complete their individual transition.  Please see the Smart Metering Entity home page news item: “Plan Ahead! New MDM/R functionality is coming” for additional background information.

This workshop will be of interest not only to LDCs but also to all CIS and AMI vendors as well as the AMI operators and Billing agents who support an LDC’s MDM/R billing function. Attendance is mandatory due to the significant business impact for each LDC.

The agenda includes:

  • Transitions in Billing Measurements and Measurement Profiles
  • Transition from the MDM/R Billing Quantity Interface to the XML Billing Service Standard Interface
  • Transitions in Register Reading Quality Indicators

The January 25th session will be an in-person session only.

The February 2nd session will provide a call-in / WebEx option for those attendees who require remote access for distance reasons.
